Biography

Juan Izkierdo Grupo is a modern orchestra of young Latin American musicians born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its objective is the creation of new music, the fusion of the tradition of the music of the region with modern music, the interpretation of Latin American folklore.

Its name refers to a great friend of its first members. Juan influenced with love and feeling, in a wonderful way, the life of his friends and his family. Sadly he passes away at 17 years old. The group is a tribute to him, a beautiful way to see the world.

The music is mostly written with spaces designed for improvisation. The works are of mutated time of work and count on the valuable glance of the teachers Alan Plachta and Guillermo Klein.

With strong poetic imprint, it gives rise to encounters between music and the spoken word - not sung - in the form of recitations.

Juan Izkierdo Group 2014 is formally ensigning in 2014, since then, are kept in the important theaters of the scene portaña: Café Vinilo, Teatro de la Media Legua, La Manzana de las Luces, Hasta Trilce, Centro Cultural Julián Centeya and others.

He was awarded by the INAMU in the Call for Foments 2016 with the National Production Voucher for his first record, which will be released in the second half of 2017.

In addition, he was selected to participate in the Bienal de Arte Joven 2017 in the call of Bands and Soloists.
