Biography

César Pueyrredón formed at the age of 14, along with his brother Daniel, the base of the band that would be called Banana from 1969, next to Jorge Scoufalos, with whom it formed an authorial duo that persisted during many years.

They recorded their first LP “Banana ha llegado al mundo” in 1969, reaching a great popularity in the early 70's that was characterized by its unmistakable style, from the melodic compositions of César and his romantic style, standing out with his album “Banana” of 1973 that contains an endless number of hits.

What little they know, is that from 1975-76, they began to have a more Rock vein, besides making their repertoire of ballads, they made covers of subjects of Gentle Giant, Genesis or “Roundabout” of Yes.

At that time, César studied Composition in Universidad Católica (UCA), and sounded much Genesis, Focus and Crucis. This last band shocked him so much, that he generated his desire to do more elaborate things, and in 1977, indeed, he began to write in another way, to draw on books and poems he read.

In 1979 they publish “Aún es tiempo de soñar”, a work of net court Progressive Symphonic Rock, with influences of Yes, Genesis, Focus and Crucis. Simply, done from your aesthetic need of that moment. Yes, it is a "rare avis".

The album was never presented live since they were immersed in a stage of changes. Thus emerged his following albums “Licuado” (1980), that still maintained in great part his aesthetic of Symphonic Rock and “De entrecasa” (1983).  The group ended up dissolving in 1984, Cesar starting his solo career, becoming one of the most important exponents of the Pop song and the romantic ballad in our country.
