Biography

Fantasía Cromática was founded in Buenos Aires in 2004. From the early steps, the band's main purpose was to make music beyond the usual limitations of specific standards, so they gladly incorporated elements of Jazz, Art-Rock, Blues and Chamber Music in their material: the Jazz factor is the most predominant, more specifically, the Jazz-Fusion variety. Anyway, the band cites Weather report, Return to forever, Pat Metheny,. Jaco Pastorius, Scott Henderson, Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes as major influences. Covers of Chick Corea, Weather report, Pink Floyd and Charlie Parker tracks have been and continue to be included in live setlists.

Buenos Aires is the band's most recurrent host for live gigs since its inception. The band gained a local cult following. The release of an eponymous debut album in 2006 has given Fantasía Cromática the opportunity to expand the circle of listeners.
