Biography

Mantis, as a musical group, was formed in late 2006. He is a sextet composed by: bass (Mario Alvarado), drums (Ariel Chisleanschi), electric guitar (Alonso Ortiz), electric guitar (Joel Patiño), flute (Manuel Altamirano ) aand electronic accessories (Camilo Ortiz).

The repertoire is made of own compositions, oriented to an electric music, most of the music is instrumental.

In the stage of a show of Mantis, there are climates that evoke instrumental Rock of the 70's, in Progressive, Symphonic or Psychedelic elements, such as Funk or Jazz Rock (the theme "Billy" is a tribute to drummer Billy Cobham) ; From an inevitable South American imprint. Also included are some songs from the repertoire of National Rock (Sumo, Los redondos etc.) in a clearly electric aesthetic where the flute brings nuances sought beyond the short experience of this instrument in the genre.

Mantis tries to reach his audience through intense sonorities and compositions where the rhythmic occupies a privileged place.

This year the first record was recorded, which will be released by the end of the year, accompanied by a series of recitals with various guests.
