Biography

La Barra de Chocolate was an Argentine rock group. Along with Los Náufragos, La Joven Guardia and Los Beatniks, they were pioneers of the beat genre.

Led by Ramón Alberto García (Pajarito Zaguri), this band emerged at the La Cueva club along with other artists of the time such as: Miguel Abuelo, Javier Martínez, Tanguito and Los Gatos in 1969. With their song Alza la voz, they won the National Beat Music Festival that same year. With this same song, they sold approximately more than 40,000 singles in three months.

Their only long-playing record was released at the end of 1969 and the group dedicated it to the La Cueva club. They also participated in the B.A. Rock in 1970. They broke up that same year and Pajarito Zaguri began his solo career a year later.
