Biography

“Moro-Satragni” was the only album of the duo composed by the drummer Oscar Moro (former member of Los Gatos, Huinca, Color Humano, La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros, and Serú Girán), and the Uruguayan Beto Satragni (former member of the group Raíces and Spinetta Jade), on bass and vocals

The group began to present itself in 1983, one month after the separation of Serú Girán. I have now commented that he formed the group to show himself as an independent musician, as he did his companions Charly García, David Lebón and Pedro Aznar played disco solos. Later they launched their single disc, which was called Moro-Satragni and included all the compositions, mostly composed by Satragni. This recording is enjoyed by various musicians such as Charly García, David Lebón, Leo Sujatovich, Oscar Feldman, Pablo Rodríguez, Oscar Kreimer, Osvaldo Fattoruso, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Gustavo Bazterrica, Ricardo Mollo, Lito Epumer and Diego Rapoport. The band presented with Rubén Goldín en guitarras, and Alejandro Pires on keyboards

"It happened that after the separation of Serú Girán, the recording company offered to record an album for each of the members, so Moro associated with Satragni for this adventure. The album did not have much repercussion despite the quality of the album and that of his guests, mostly colleagues and friends in common.

Satragni had been the bassist on “Alma de diamante”, Spinetta Jade's first album, so it was not surprising that Leo Sujatovich and Diego Rapoport on keyboards, and Lito Epumer on guitar, all Spinetta musicians, participated in “Moro-Satragni”. , and even Flaco himself, who recorded his viola on one of his songs, 'Mirada azul'.

On Moro's side was the guitarist Gustavo Bazterrica (partner in La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros); and David Lebón, voice and guitar in 'Everything that can do me well', the song that closed the album (written by Lebón and Moro); and Charly García, who provided voice and keyboards on his song, 'How I would like to be black' (the two partners in Serú Girán).

As for the songs on "Moro-Satragni", apart from those already mentioned, Oscar Moro contributed the instrumental 'Canción de alguien' and Satragni four songs, one of them 'Canecandombe', from the Raíces era.

The Moro-Satragni duo had a short life, they had debuted at the KDT Circuit Spring Festival but after a few shows with guest musicians each one took different paths: Moro joined Riff, participated in "I get crazier every day", by Celeste Carballo and in “Detectives”, by Fabiana Cantilo; Satragni had a brief stint in the Lebón band, then he formed El 60 together with guitarist Héctor Starc, they recorded a single album and dissolved.

"Moro-Satragni" remained a beautiful memory of the union of two great musicians who left too soon."
