Biography
Vlad Tepes is a Progressive Rock quartet coming from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They formed in 2005 comprised of Maximiliano Oyarzabal (vocals, bass), Jonathan Lopez Barrios on guitar, drummer Andrés Bonetto and Sebastián Moreiras on percussion.
The band's music incorporates a wide range of influences coming from the Psychedelic and Space Rock, Jazz, Blues and Funk genre. Overall this is eqipped with a proper portion of sound experimentation and improvisation. The compositions are characterized by the creation of changing climates achieved by complex instrumental arrangements, abrupt rhythmic and unexpected changes.
Vlad Tepes really started all engines in 2010 with an EP called “Salidas simples”, accompanied by an extensive tour along the Atlantic coast with more than 20 shows. In 2014 they launched the full-fledged album “Éxtasis en tus venas”, a highly anticipated production for the band's career, carried out in the mythical Panda Studios under the production of Fran Marafioti.
The references that could be mentioned to put a parallel with the sound of this one are varied and enough, from Sumo to Zappa happening through Seru Giran, King Crimson and the Beatles more Spinetta, Soda Stereo, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Nirvana, generally Ranging between different types of Rock, sometimes very climatic, others fused and in others with a very alternative sound, with complex instrumental arrangements, abrupt and unexpected rhythmic changes conform their own style, no longer as close to the sound of the seventies as achieved in their first production, something more modern but always avant-garde.
At the end of the year 2016 they independently release their second CD "La peste del ocio". As with the first album, his music incorporates influences ranging from Jazz, Blues, Funk, Stoner Rock, Space Rock and Psychedelic to sound experimentation and improvisation.
