Biography
André Mello and Marcio de Almeida (former members of Visagem de Pandora) recruted two old friends: Bernard (first bass player) and Henrique Simões (guitar). After a couple of weeks, Bernard left the band in order to follow his designer career. Henrique called his cousin Ronaldo Simões to assume the bass. This line up recorded two songs in studio and later they become part of "Tales from a forgotten world".
Unfortunatly, Marcio have to leave the band and some new drumers are recruted. In that period a couple of gis were done with Cesar Lanzarini (as a Narrator of the conceptual songs). Ary Moura, that met André Mello in some prog gigs in Rio de Janeiro joined the band in 1997. In the same period, again Bernard become part of the band. With this line up, Tempus Fugit recorded Tales from a Long Forgotten World with a tremendous reputation in Japan, Europe and USA.
On 1998, an official bootleg was recorded (registering the last show of Bernard) and was released by Rock Symphony. In this same year, tha band opened for Pendragon in his Brazilian Tour (Rio de Janeiro and Macaé). So, Andre Mello recruted Andre Luiz (Bass) that already helped the band in some gigs playing acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin and was a friend of work (both of them gave lessons in a School Music runned by Lidia Nogueira (member of the Gama Filho Coral that toured with Rick Wakeman on his brazilian tour of Journey To The Centre of The Earth). Ary and Henrique also gave lessons there (drum and guitar respectively).
With this line up, Tempus Fugit entered the studio in 1999 and recorded "The dawn after the storm", the second album. The band was invited to play on Baja Prog Festival in Mexico, organized by the members of the prog band Cast. Unfortunatly the band didn't play there because couldn't raise funds for the plane tickets. On the other hand, the band made a gig on Buenos Aires with Anekdoten, Nexus and other local bands on the 1st Argentina Prog Festival in 12/04/1999 ith two guitarrists! José Roberto Crivano (from the band Agne Luz and later Quaterna Réquiem, and a friend of André Mello and Marcio de Almeida on Visagem era) joined the band as a new acoustic and electric guitar player. With this line up, the band was aclaimed for the audience as one of the best prog show in Argentina!
In september/2000 the band plays at Prog Fest 2000, opening the last day of the festival, one of the biggest of the world. It was the first latin american band to participate in this festival. Theey came back to Brasil and started working on the 3rd CD.
