The life of José Luis “Sartén” Asaresi really kicks off once he discovers by himself how to play drums when 8 years old (1966). The additional interests of young “Sartén” in everything related to electronics and engeneering makes him, at 11 age, the first-ever DJ of his Argentina hometown, Venado Tuerto, Santa Fé - provience, whereafter drumming in a local Rock band and in his daddy’s Folk band are next on his list. Almost logically, he discovers other instruments, such a electric bass and piano. By the time he’s 15, “Sartén” plays for local ballroom dance ensambles (1972).

In 1977 “Sartén” leaves his hometown to Junín (Buenos Aires - province), to become arranger, guitarist as well as keyboard programmer for the Junin based-band Espectros.

Like all fellow countymen, he feels hopelessly attracted to the glitter and glamour of the big city and finally moves to the capital Buenos Aires in 1982.

“Sartén” launches himself fully into all possible music endeavors out there. In 10 years time he works (studio as well as live) with a board varie and bands, including: Preset, Teléfono rojo, adiós, Nacha Guevara, Miguel Zavaleta, Suéter, Silvina Garré, Mezo Bigarrena, Horacio Fontova, Juan Carlos Baglietto, Hilda Lizarazu, Sandra Mihanovich, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Man Ray, Walter Malosetti, Lito Epumer, Armando Alonso, Pedro Conde, Rubén Goldín, Adrián Abonizio, Alberto Favero, Nito Mestre, Donés Donés (batería), “Jota” Morelli, Javier Malosetti, Claudio Carbone, Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez, Karina Rivak, Guillermo Arrom, Martín Porto, Oscar Dionisi, Claudio Venier, “Ricky” Olarte, Gustavo Donés, J. As solo guitarist he plays at Teatro Municipal San Martín (Buenos Aires), tours the club stages of Argentina, runs specialized technicals workshops (such as “Guitar applications for foot playing”) and composes as well as performs tunes for numerous films, theater plays and commercials.

A job as a sound engineer at the Buenos Aires-bassed  “El jardín” recording  studios (Ollendörf method, after engineer Gustavo Donés), in 1986 allows him to further build upon his skills as studio, theatre and live sound engineer; he additionally learns himself how to develop and build string instruments.

But that’s far for being everything: in 1987 centipede “Sartén” launches SARTÉN SYSTEM together with Gustavo Donés and J. L. “Coyote” Damiani, a project that is co-awarded the First Prize in the category Popular Music with 3 other projects at the bi-annual “Bienal de arte joven” contest in 1989.

In 1990 “Sartén” directs and produces “Hoy x hoy” (Melopea discos 1991), the first SARTÉN SYSTEM album with many musicians invited to side him in order to be able to perform this project accordingly in a live setting.

Thereafter, destiny drives “Sartén” to Europe: Barcelona, Geneva and Italy... (roots revisited), where he works on a series of albums of italian artist Juan Carlos “Flaco”Biondini.

He co-produces Biondini’s concert CD “Live in Spazio Musica” (1994), sings for all guitar parts and special effects on the album “Festivale di Cinema Trento” (1994) and edits as well as mixes Biondini’s children’s productions “Girotondo” (2003).

In Geneva he creates “Depot 8” recording studios with fellow drummer-percusionist Luca Solari and works as sound engineer for many theatres and studios.

For the remaining time, he prefer to stay silent for the sake of all of us.
