In less than one year since their debut album “No se menciona la soga en casa del ahorcado”, Los Álamos has been chosen as the revelatory band of 2005 by the readers and critics alike of “Rolling Stones Magazine” (Argentine).

The Space-Country sound that characterizes the band has awakened laudatory praises in neighboring countries like Brazil (Bizz Magazine, Senhor F Magazine), Uruguay (La Diaria) and Chile (Super45).

In August of 2006 put out their second album “Emboscada”, an EP of covers and live recordings.

Originally, the band was formed as an instrumental band in 2003 with two guitars and drums. Soon after the began adding more members and the band became tighter and Peter started, first in English and later in Spanish, to write lyrics. Together with the arrival of North American Jonah Schwartz and his mandolin, the current formation was reached and the band turned its musical visions towards Country and Folk landscapes while maintaining their identity as a Rock band. Like this, the music of Los Álamos both spurs and breaks through the local self-dubbed Narco-Country scene.

The band consists of Pedro López (vocals and acoustic guitar), Ezequiel Safatle (electric guitar), Diego Arango (drums), Jonah Schwartz (mandolin and harmonica), Matías Campo (bass) and Gabriel Sanabria (accordion and trumpet). The trajectory of this six musicians was already long before forming Los Álamos they had played in various bands of the Buenos Aires’s underground like Voltura, Catarsis, Black President, Fun People, Fantasmagoria, Nobeltry, among others.

The have played in Festival “Buen día” 2005, Estudio Abierto 2005, twice in Ciclo Nuevo! 2005, Niceto Club, El Cubo, Teatro Santamaría, La Trastienda, Casa Babilón (Córdoba). And throughout 2006 they have been touring internationally playing three explosive shows in Santiago, Chile with the local legends The Granjas, Guiso y Perrosky, as well as in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the historic Teatro Central with Astroboy.

Los Álamos, along with their sound engineer Gonzalo “Birdman” Rainolidi, recorded their second album in 2006,

“Emboscada”, an EP of rarities, live songs, and covers of some of their favorite musicians: Neil Young, Friends of Dean Martinez, Spacemen 3 y East River Pipe. This album was releases in Argentina and Brazil simultaneously  in August 2006 by the new label Maldito Sea!.

After three years of inactivity, the band reunited and toured in April 2012 with a series of very successful concerts in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

In 2013 celebrated the 10th anniversary of the band with a new tour in Argentina and enclosed a week to record their third LP, obtaining results in "Luces blancas", mastered by the legendary Denis Blackham (Led Zeppelin, The Who, etc.) and published in 2014 in conjunction with Exiles Cuatrero Records Records on June 14.

The music of Los Alamos, received such varied influences as essential: Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Robert Johnson, John Fahey, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Love, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, Tindersticks, The Cramps and Johnny Cash. The six strangers who make up this band does not seem letting up on the journey they undertook and feel an auspicious wind on each route. His songs thundering sound like gunshots, so they are willing to wake up more than one in every city ...
