Biography
"Q" is the brand new musical project conceived and directed by Ricky Saenz Paz (recognized for his career in bands such as Clap, Melero, Los 7 Delfines, Cerati, Frenkel, Bel Mondo, Triangular, Atlanticus, among others). Its official presentation is materialized with a conceptual work structured in ten progressive movements, featuring the invaluable collaboration of an ensemble of outstanding musicians.
The album was conceived from the transcendental world event that marked the year 2019: the pandemic and the subsequent global confinement ("lock out" or "quarantine"). This period of isolation and unavoidable introspection served, in a way, as a catalyst and inspiration for the themes that compose the work.
Predominantly instrumental (90%) and framed in the Progressive Rock genre, the album was constructed in that context as a sort of sonic narrative. This narrative journey moves from the initial uncertainty to the subsequent understanding and a relative inner peace, naturally passing through a diversity of emotional states.
The composition, recording, and production of the tracks were handled by Ricky Saenz Paz, who was joined on various pieces by prominent instrumentalists such as Richard Coleman, Dany Ávila, Javier Miranda, Melina Xilas, Martín Fernández, Andrés Figueroa, Jerónimo Duarte, Franco Scaglia, and Nico Fontimpe.
The CD was released in November 2025 under the Viajero Inmóvil Records label and is available in both physical format and on digital platforms.
The official presentation and debut of this work took place on Friday, November 21st, at "The Lift - Club de Jazz", located at Godoy Cruz 1967, in the city of Buenos Aires.
