Biography
Presto Vivace, Progressive Metal band from the district of Liniers, in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina) is formed in August 1995 by the guitarist Agustín Pinto, the bass player Marcelo Pérez Schneider, Christian Maldonado in the voice and Hernán Martín in the drums. The 4 members very influenced by the progressive rock of the 70s ', and the metal of the same genre born in the 80', with special emphasis on Symphony X, Living Color, Racer X, Rush, etc.
The following year he recorded his first studio work, a demonstration entitled “Círculos sin centro”, a free distribution, which was very well received in the porteño, where it is about gaining trust and respect.
In 1997 they published "Laberintos hacia el vacío", a suite composed of five movements, also in demo format and distributed free of charge.
For 1998 the band decides to masterize and join the two free productions to edit them in what will be their first album released at commercial level, but edited independently: "95/97". From that moment the band begins to be recognized throughout the territory, also reaching other countries in Latin America.
For 1999 the person in charge of the vocals until the moment, Christian Maldonado, leaves the band. After searching for several months, they find who will be their successful replacement, Gabriel Chaperón, with whom they launched, in 2000, the band's second full-length album, "Utopías color emeralda". In 2005 they released their third studio album, entirely sung in English, "The enigma of the parable".
In 2006 Hernán Martín also leaves and enter in his place Maximiliano Posada.
At present the band leads the Progressive Metal scene in Argentina. They are considered among the most virtuous nationally within the genre, have been repeatedly presented as supports of recognized foreign bands, such is the case of Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen, Angra, Stratovarius, Shawn Lane, getting very good reviews, at the same time that their shows are increasingly popular.
In 2011, "Ascensión Progresiva" is released, a double album recorded live, which also has its DVD format.
With changes in its members in 2014, "Periferia vital" was recorded.
The current musicians, Despa (vocals), David Zambrana (guitars), Marcelo Pérez Schneider (bass and keyboard programming) and Martín de Pas (drums), have released their new production "Realidades convenientes” with the Swedish Progressive band The Flower Kings, on Sunday, November 18, 2018, in "El Teatrito" in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
This 6th work was edited through the prestigious international label Icarus Music Argentina, with the participation of the brilliant Aquiles Priester (Angra, Primal Fear, Dream Theater Session, etc.) who recorded the drums of all the songs on the album.
In 2020 they released a new live album celebrating their 25 years in the month of November. And added to the release of the album, they made the show presentation with a livestreaming on December 19. This album entitled "Estímulos sinusoidales - En Vivo 2015/2019" is a double album that has 12 tracks that will cover all the musical stages of the band. The cover art was made by Rodrigo Gudiña and was mastered by Jorge Moreno.
