Biography
Group born from the union of Petty Guelache (ex Orion's Beethoven and Bubu) with Daniel Telis, who met in 1982 when Willy Gardi recruited them to put together El Reloj again. Once that formation disintegrated, they kept in touch and in 1985 they undertook a project together which they named Señor Mordaz, later joining bassist Oscar López and Zurdo Alaguibe. In that year they managed to record their first material but when they finished it they realized that it did not represent the sound they wanted to express. They were forced to get a new chance from the record company. But at the end of this new recording they stole all the equipment and the master tape. With borrowed equipment they appeared at the La Falda festival, in a concert that led them to believe that their name had a "possible curse", so they simply kept it as Mordaz. This is how they recorded "Libertad condicional", which did not receive support from the FM. "The problem is that those people on the radio have everything set up to support pop music and they can't suddenly say that there's a branch of heavy metal that's going down well." This is how they explained their situation in an interview conducted by Cantarock magazine. They tried to defend their record but the band was forced to split up.
Guitarist Daniel Tellis physically left us on October 1, 2018.
