Biography

“Canciones del Sur” contains the live recordings of two performances by the vocal and instrumental trio made up of Kubero Díaz (lead guitar and vocals) Miguel Cantilo (lead vocals and second guitar) and Rubén "Mono" Izarrualde (transverse flute and vocals) performed in Bariloche and El Bolsón in 2003.

These records were taken by microphones installed in front of each instrumentalist by the amplification console of the respective rooms, without having individual channels and with the purpose of being transmitted by radio.

In some songs, opportunely consigned, they had the valuable support of Carlos Casalla on percussion.

All songs belong to Kubero Díaz in music and Miguel Cantilo in lyrics, except “Blancos campos sureños”, music and lyrics by Kubero Díaz, “Que sea al sol”, music and lyrics by Miguel Cantilo and “Blues del éxodo” by Miguel Cantilo, Enrique Gornatti, Nestor Paul and Norberto Napolitano.

The work of restoration, processing and mastering of the copy kept by the musicians was in charge of Anael Cantilo at the Lirón Studios during the current year 2023.

The photographs were taken by Diego Ortiz Mugica at the time and place of the concerts.
