Biography

Morbo y Mambo is a Rock band with pulse that incites dance. Formed in 2007 by musicians from Mar del Plata residing in San Telmo, their music rides on steaming  and wet Dub, in and out of into Funk, lands at Kraut Rock and emanates inevitably a Psychedelic halo.

They have three tours in Brazil including shows in Rio, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Sao Carlos, where they shared stages with Curumin, Do Amor and Bixiga 70, among others. In October 2012 they played before more than thousands of crazed people in MoLA Festival (organized by the historic Circo Voador de Lapa, RJ). This show had a Nigerian condiment: they joined the set with Oghene Kologbo, Africa 70 guitarist, legendary band of Fela Kuti.

In April 2013, during his last visit to Brazil, the group were chosen to open in the same Circo Voador, the presentation of the disc of Los Sebosos Postizos (Zumbi Nação core playing music  of Jorge Ben) for an audience of 3000 people .

They played with Tame Impala and tUnE-yArDs on their visits to Argentina and closed the first Festival Latinoamericano de Afrobeat  in a crowded Konex Stadium, where they also performed with Miss Bolivia the audiovisual “Morbolivia”. They participating in the Festival Ciudad Emergente 2012; were summoned by El Mató a un Policía Motorizado for Festival RS LIVE, organized by Rolling Stone magazine; TRImarchi DG, the most important graphic design convention's in Latin America, chose to join the shows that take place during the event, as well as audiovisual festivals Buenas Noches TRImarchi (BNT).

So far, they edited independently the EP's "Das Papier" and "Handleness" and the LP "Morbo y Mambo", recorded live at the legendary ION Studies. Also they released three remixes: “Candomb  | Canu” (2012), “La espada de Cadorna RS Dub”  (2012) and “Candomb - Viaje en globo desde la terraza” (2013).

In September 2014 they published under the Exiles Records label their second studio album titled "Boa" with a digi-sleeve handmade presentation.

In 2017 came "Muta", produced by Hernán Calvo Pardo, Mauro Alberelli and Maximiliano Russo. It was recorded in Van Vliet and Fábrica Perú between april and october 2016 by Hernán Calvo Pardo. Mixed by Hernán Calvo Pardo, Mauro Alberelli and Maximiliano Russo in Van Vliet. Mastered by Fede Fragalá in Puro Revolver.
