Biography
EPN trío is formed in November 2011 following the dissolution of Ensamble de Música Improvisada "Antropostlexia" which counted among its members Hector Britos (in Alto Saxophone and Clarinet), Sebastian Preit (Piano) and Facundo Negri (Percussion) - After Hector going to the place of bassist and the trio begin to shape the compositions a year later would for fruit his first double album released in 2013.
His first art-album "Vol. 1 & 2 - (2 CDs) – later changed his name to "La vaca - Vol. 1 & 2" –, is a reflection of a state that it came after a year of planning, composition, testing and recruiting musicians. The assembly achieved its peak in November 2012, the date on which it began with the recording of it. From the outset, stable and those members who joined as guests, they took a position of intense work yet simple: commitment and total dedication.
It turns out to be a difficult task to describe our own artistic universe without being over-valuations or omission of details, so we decided to have precise and overwhelming words of Abel Gilbert (who has supported this project from the beginning).
Despite the youth of its members (none exceeds 30 years) EPN trío shows a rare artistic and interpretative maturity. The disc just recorded has been forged in the context of the known economic and institutional constraints. But these limitations have not been an obstacle to Sebastian Preit, Facundo Negri and Hector Britos deployed his talent forcefully. EPN provides nearly two hours of music that defies common sense and categories or ways to classify. The thressom puts tension on the borders between genres and gives a key group understand how the contemporary condition. The music flows and suggests marks and listeners. Nothing is alien: the Jazz here reverberates with the call Classical Music, a brift together the Rock and Hip hop. In August of 2017 a new album appears :"1 Covers - Reminiscencias", this time approving 13 tracks where they revert to important musicians of the Classical Music (Bach, Beethoven, R. Shumman, Ch.Ives), composers of Contemporary Music (Ligeti, Stravinsky, Varesse), Jazz musicians (Ch. Parker, Ch. Mingus, T. Monk) or Rock (Frank Zappa), as well as arrangements and themes of the trio. This time, accompanied by numerous invited musicians.
Three years after its digital edition, finally comes to light "1Covers - Forgotten", released on LP vinyl in February 2019, thanks to the support of the National Institute of Music (INAMU). It is work would be the continuation of the idea to carry out reversion in their own style to the artists they admire: Radiohead, Dead Can Dance, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Portishead, King Crimson, Atahualpa Yupanqui and others.
