Biography
The Ensamble Chancho a Cuerda is a septet that since its birth in 2006 works collectively on its own and foreign compositions, arrangements, songs and improvisations creating contemporary and Latin American popular music without genres.
It is formed by Nicolás Rallis (acoustic guitars and vocals), Lautaro Matute (electric guitars and vocals), Julián Galay (acoustic and electric bass guitar), Nahuel Carfi (piano, rhodes, organs and samples), Manuel Rodríguez Riva (clarinets, flutes, harmonicas), Joaquín Chibán (violin) and Agustín Lumerman (drums and percussion).
He has published four albums: astes (2010, UMI), Subversiones (2012, Vinilo Discos, Gardel Award for Best Instrumental Album / Fusion / World Music 2013), Deconstrucción (2014, NoSeso Records, Nominated for Gardel Award for Best Recording Engineering 2015 ) and Posdata (2018, Elefante en la Habitación!).
Throughout his career he has shared presentations with musicians such as Liliana Herrero (ARG), Leo Masliah (URU), Hugo Fattoruso (URU), Luiz Carlos Borges (BRA), Vitor Ramil (BRA), Benjamim Taubkin (BRA), Ná Ozzetti (BRA), Diego Schissi (ARG) and Juan Cruz de Urquiza (ARG) among many others.
In addition to having toured the most prominent stages of the Buenos Aires circuit and the interior of the country, the Ensemble has participated in numerous international festivals such as the Musicas del Sur (San Pablo, Brazil), Jazz a la Calle (Mercedes, Uruguay), Porto Alegre Em Cena (Porto Alegre, Brazil), BA Jazz and the Federal Meeting of the Word (Buenos Aires, Argentina) among others.
