Biography

An important reference of Argentine Folk Rock, the duo made up of the brothers Miguel and Eugenio Pérez, recorded this unique album between 1972-73, on the Trova label, with the collaboration of Litto Nebbia.

In the first months of '70, the Pérez brothers timidly began to present their folk songs in small venues in their native Castelar and the Capital. In 1972 they were part of the "Acusticazo". They joined a work cooperative together with León Gieco and Raúl Porchetto, to cover the expenses of their performances. With the collaboration of Litto Nebbia, they arrived that same year to independently record their only self-titled album, also known as "En Junio". "The brothers Miguel and Eugenio have worked on all the details of this, their first album: the voices, the arrangements, to some extent, the production work. It seems as if they had already released other works before. But perhaps the most important facet of this album is focused on the excellent literary quality" (Pelo magazine N° 38). Once the material was produced, they continued with their performances, with a support band. Eugenio dabbled in the keyboards and Miguel in the winds. Starting in 1974, their appearances became more spaced out and, just three years later, they reappeared together with their other two younger brothers under the name of Aucán.

"Acoustic music is having great diffusion and acceptance in recent months and it is likely that, by the end of the year, it will be as important in the popular consensus as electric rock. Miguel and Eugenio, as is known, are enrolled within the gap acoustic, but they are the only ones (together with Roque Narvaja) who have released purely folk material. Or perhaps with the most accurate and pure meaning that this category explains. The brothers Miguel and Eugenio Pérez have worked on all the details of this their first album: the voices, the arrangements, to some extent the production work. It seems as if they had already released other works before. But perhaps the most important facet of this album is focused on the excellent literary quality: "Amigo clandestino” and other works are a foretaste that this duo is going to contribute songs of real value, above all in a plane of approach to a true synthesis of the new Argentine popular music.

Tapa: Careful, sober and natural, like the duo. The hope of a child to come is also the hope of a world to come and that everyone can try from now on. Very good at discarding frills, double-top useless vanities: this record is simple, straightforward and accessible, in that, too.

Synthesis: an important long play for his work, but one that must also be given importance for what it means as an opening and contribution to modern popular music."
