Biography

Sergio Alvarez was born on March 8 1967 in the city of Necochea, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and since he was five he started his romance with music playing the piano with his elder brothers, since he comes from a family of musicians. His father was a concertina player and director of his own Tango orchestra in the 50s, apart from have a shop of musical instruments. Sergio started his professional career at the age of 18 making a band called IN EXTREMIS which lasted almost 10 years, with great success. The band was Rock Pop Symphonic, and he recorded a record called "Solo seducción " in 1995. Sergio has also had many bands of Jazz, Folk and Rock, as a session player. He has also made advertising music for many years, making Jingles for Radio and Television. Truly identified with the Progressive Symphonic Rock and specially with the great classics such as : Yes, Genesis, Emerson, Lake & Palmer,  Rick Wakeman among others, Sergio Alvarez released his first Progressive record called "Pasaje a la revelación". Such record was totally made, arranged, performed and recorded, in his private studio by Alvarez himself, since he plays the keyboards as well as many other instruments. His second record called "Escenas de ficción" was totally made, arranged, performed and recorded by Sergio in the Musimix Studios (which belong to him) in the city of Necochea between April and July of 2000.
